Chris Bosh Not Ready to Close Door on Playing Career

Former NBA player and Miami Heat star, Chris Bosh, wants back in.

After his career ended prematurely due to repeated blood clots, Bosh has been trying to find a way back into the sport that he loves. It hasn’t been easy, but he’s repeatedly said that he doesn’t think his playing career is over.

He doubled down on that notion when he appeared on the “Full 48” podcast with Howard Beck. Bosh told Beck that playing basketball is “still there in front of me,” and “the window is still open,” per Anthony Chiang of the Palm Beach Post.

“I still, of course, work out and everything,” Bosh said. “I’m still doing work on the court. That’s very important to me. I’m still keeping my options open for the future. I know a lot of people don’t know that, but don’t write me off just yet.”

Bosh hasn’t played since Feb. 9, 2016. The Heat waived him in July when a doctor advised that playing professional basketball would be a risk to Bosh’s life.

It’s a sad state of affairs when a person can’t do what they love because of a circumstance is outside of their control. And Bosh is said to be one of the nicest and smartest basketball players that’s ever stepped foot in an NBA arena.

If he finds some way to play without any additional risk, that would not only be great for the game, but even greater for him as a human being.
